Here are some great wedding ceremony sites in the town:

Great Island Common - This is truly a hidden gem on the New Hampshire seacoast and I have married many couples here. It's a great alternative to the crowded beaches of Hampton, and never fails to delight the couples I work with. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, I believe I can say that I have never had a couple not choose this for their ceremony location after they've visited it. There is grass and trees, a small beach, and wonderful views of the ocean and two lighthouses. After the wedding, you can stay and have lunch/dinner on their picnic tables or cook up some food on their barbecue pits. And New Castle sits right next to Portsmouth so, if you choose, you can venture into town to one of the fine restaurants in the "San Francisco of the East Coast." I can say without exaggeration, that I have never seen the Common crowded. And, I've witnessed situations where the visitors there will get up and move to a different location if they see a wedding is about to take place. There is a per person fee to enter the park, but it is reasonable, and there is a reduced rate for senior citizens and children. I highly recommend you consider Great Island Common if you are looking for a great location for your New Hampshire seacoast wedding. You can see some wonderful images here: Great Island Common

Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse - Looking for a unique wedding experience? Tie the knot at the top of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse! Did a ceremony here on a beautiful summer day. The view is nothing short of magnificent and, as long as you don't have a fear of heights, this is an unforgettable experience. You can see some great images here: Portsmouth Harbor Light

Wentworth by the Sea Hotel - Have performed many weddings here. A beautiful and elegant place. Most of the weddings have been outside in one of their outdoor garden areas, but they have 12 event rooms, with the Grand Ballroom seating up to 500 people. They are very organized, and just about every wedding I remember doing there starts on time. Here are some pics: Wentworth by the Sea Hotel & Spa
