Here are a couple of great wedding venues/sites in the town:
•
Flag Hill Winery & Distillery - Officiated my first wedding here recently - and it has risen straight to the top of my favorite places to perform ceremonies as a JP! My first impressions were very good as I encountered not one, but two parking attendants who made parking very easy. The site had ample signage directing guests to the ceremony site and other important locations. The ceremony itself was super-coordinated, and the coordinators were super-friendly and super-helpful- all big pluses! Now to the venue itself. It was a coolish May day, but the Winery had a heated tent so all the guests could stay warm before the ceremony began and afterward at the reception. The tent can accommodate 300 guests and is used during the summer months, while a smaller indoor dining room can be used for your wedding in the winter months. The ceremony itself took place in a gorgeous field overlooking the vineyard. There's not a lot to say other than it is just a perfect place for a wedding, and I highly recommend you check it out for your ceremony. You won't be disappointed. Here are some pictures:

Lee USA Speedway - You wouldn't think of a speedway as the ideal wedding venue. But if you're a racing fan... maybe you would! I did the honors as Justice of the Peace for a wedding here, on the track, on a warm May day, before the races started for the day (of course!). The Bride and Groom had a few family and friends with them, and we had a short ceremony with "Sweet Home Alabama" and the Rolling Stones blaring in the background. If you're a race fan, this is an ideal and very unique ceremony site. You can't bring a whole lot of people with you, but you, and the people you do bring, can stick around afterward for a day of racing! Very cool!
